Throughout his voyage in public service, Senator Uba Sani has strived to stand in words and actions. Senator Uba Sani is coming to The Red Chamber with a vision and draft bills that he hopes his colleagues in the Senate will debate, embrace and pursue. Anything less than this is a total failure of the mandate given to him by his constituency.


Background and early life


Senator Uba Sani is a politician, businessman and former activist. He was born on 31st December, 1970, he holds a Master of Science degree in Finance from the University of Calabar, a Post-graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Abuja, and a Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Kaduna Polytechnic. He was born in Zaria and grew up in Kawo, Kaduna State. He is happily married with three children and is a sports enthusiast and an avid Liverpool fan.

Service to the people

Accomplishments and forray into politics

Alongside his peers, Senator Uba Sani made his name as an an advocate for democratic values. He was a prominent crusader against the military junta of General Sani Abacha. He served as the National Vice Chairman of Campaign for Democracy (CD) and as Deputy National Chairman of the Joint Action Committee under the leadership of the revered, Gani Fawehinmi, SAN. His organisation skills and networking ability has been an asset to the progression of Nigeria.

After serving with the Ministry of Works and Housing, his major stint as a public servant came under the Obasanjo administration. He served as the Senior Special Assistant to President Obasanjo and as the Special Adviser to the Minister of F.C.T on Political Affairs. He unsuccessfully ran for the Kaduna Central Senatorial seat under the PDP in an election that was adjudged to have been rigged. After this run, he took a break from public life and focused on his diverse business interests.

Senator Uba Sani returned in full force when his friend and brother clinched the gubernatorial ticket of the APC in 2015. He played a critical role in the APC Campaign Council in Kaduna and was a member of the Transition Committee that ushered in the El-Rufai administration. Consequently, Governor Nasir El-Rufai appointed Senator Uba Sani as his Special Adviser on Political Affairs. A year later, the Governor added another portfolio to Uba Sani, when he was confirmed as Special Adviser, Political Affairs & Inter-Governmental Relations.
